Should I interview twice?

I interviewed this August on campus at Middlebury with an admissions representative. I just got an email from an alumnus who wants to interview me. Should I go through with another interview, even though I've already had one? Will it do me any good?

Thanks

I think you should. Alumni interviewers prepare a report that is sent to admissions. If you refuse an alumni interview, it may come across as a lack of interest in Middlebury on your part.

Yeah, not like it's gonna harm you or anything...

yeah I had one on campus in august and then another a few weeks ago in my town. it can only help to get a fuller picture of you as a candidate, and for the second you'll have a leg up because of your prior experience with a midd interview.

I did, it really can only help you, especially if you love middlebury and show a lot of interest

I'm an alum interviewer. You don't have to have a second interview, but it certainly indicates your interest in the school if you take the opportunity to meet and chat.

The worst thing you can do is fail to respond to the alum's email or phone call - that definitely goes into the report, and the admin officers do take that into consideration when reviewing your application. Reply within 24 hours, and if you are interested, say so and set up a time to meet. If you do not want an interview, reply within 24 hours and thank them for contacting you. You can say something like, "I appreciate your getting in touch with me. I had a wonderful interview and visit to the school last fall, and am very excited by all Middlebury has to offer. If I have any other questions, may I contact you?"

On second thought, the very worst thing is having your mom or dad reply for you because they put their email address on your application!

Once really wasn't enough? Are you kidding me? What are you going to say in the second interview that's any different than the first? Wow, take it easy... You probably did fine in the first. A second interview is: stupid. dumb. lumpy.

I remember telling my interviewer (over email) that I didn't have any specific questions.

Do the second interview. The on campus interviews are intended to be strictly informational, while the alums who run the interviews send in reports about you that is included in your application.

ARGH, I failed to reply to the interviewer's phone call... I called her a few days later, but I expect that's already horrible manners. After 10 days, she hadn't replied yet, so I decided to call her again, and left a message. But the message was so messed up, and I worded everything in the wrong way. I don't know... I was probably nervous.

I so botched my chances. I don't know what to do anymore. Middlebury is basically like my top choice... Even if I got into Harvard, I might still go to Middlebury. I don't know why I didn't reply immediately. I just forgot about it, and I didn't want to call when it was 10. Can I do anything about it now? :(

if the interviewer doesnt reply soon, then email admissions. they will note, however, that its been 10 days. not only that, but i had a semi-late interview myself, and was told by my interviewer "that i [the interviewer] will have to send an evaluation in a little late, but no worries." and this was last week. now may be TOO late.

still, contact admissions and the interviewer and see what you can do.

Alumni interview reports were due to the admissions office yesterday.

Thanks guys! My interviewer called me back yesterday, in the afternoon, and we had our interview last night. =)

I'm glad I called her that day, especially hearing that the interview reports were due yesterday...
