Just got back my semester one grades. I noticed that every single one of my grades was a “-”. My unweighted GPA is a 3.36 while my UC GPA is a 4.0. That’s a huge difference. I can’t really get into any of my top colleges with a 3.36 unweighted, but I think I can still get into UCSB/UCI hopefully with my UC GPA. I am a California resident. Advice?
My grades:
Spanish 2: B-
Chemistry: A-
AP World History: A-
PreCalc Honors: B-
American Literature: A-
Hebrew Scriptures (UC Counted): A-
Did you calculate your UC GPA correctly since a 3.36 unweighted to a 4.0 seems not quite right.? There is a capped UC GPA with 8 semesters of extra points which usually bumps up your UW GPA by 0.3-0.5 and then uncapped UC GPA (for UCLA/UCB only) which includes extra honors points for more than 8 semesters of honors points. UC GPA is only 10-11th grades for the a-g courses.
