Should i play a sport?

Do playing sports really make a difference to top colleges. Because i was planning on playing field hockey or tenis my sophmore year, i never really played a sport before but is it worth it because i want to keep my grades up but playing a sport might bring them down. So how good does it lo0k if i play a fall sport for high school for 3 years?

actully i played sports b4...just not for my school and i was on the track team but thats a spring sport

Here's the deal: if you want to, then play. if not, don't

Don't do some sport just for colleges.

You're better off being committed to another EC you truly enjoy...

I golfed my freshmen year for my school. Nothing else that we offer (the standards) appealed to me. I would've swam if we had a team (I swam for about 4 years on a public team) and there are other sports I would've done if I could have. I would've played lacrosse, rugby, soccer, or done crew if my school had it...but we don't. So therefore I did other ECs, mostly music stuff. Whatever...to a college, either way it's an extracurricular, I really don't think they care what kind it is.

I think it's very good to play a sport. What sports do you like?
