I am a bit distraught.

I received a 2 on my APUSH exam, but after looking at scoring guides and conversions, I can't imagine that I'm anywhere near a 2. Worst case scenario I probably performed at a low 4 or high 3.
All of my other exams are 4 or 5, even the ones I believed were way harder than the US History one. I got two 5's and 3 4's, one of them AP Chemistry, which I didn't even take an AP class/study for. Systematic guessing got me a 4, so I can't imagine how I could have gotten a 2 on APUSH.

The question is, should I rescore my exam? Is it worth the $30?

For you, I would say yes. I’ve heard of cases where Collegeboard loses a student’s free-response section, so it doesn’t get graded and they get a bad score. That may be what happened for you, but I’m not sure how you would approach that topic with them.

To add on to this, is there any way to have your FRQs/DBQs rescored?

On the site it says that only mc is rescored. What happens to the frq?

I complained about this too since I got a 2 on AP Gov and 5 5’s on all my other tests… It looks like even if it’s THEIR fault in losing the testing materials we have to fork over the money… When I asked repeatedly if it were possible to check whether my FRQ were graded or not, they just gave me the same copy and paste response to pay for their rescoring service. ■■■■.

Order your FRQ booklet and see if they can find it. If they send you one, then you got a 2, if not then they didn’t even grade your DBQs. I believe someone on CC said that CollegeBoard simply rewarded him/her a 4 instead of a 2 for the mistake.

So I should order my FRQ booklet before requesting a rescore of the MC?

@jchen97 Will they nickel and dime me to receive that as well?

@menacing Yes, I believe it’s $10 per booklet, unsurprisingly haha

What the hell? What stops them from “losing” 5% of the exams and making people pay for them or sacrifice a grade?
