I was a junior in HS, about 3 years ago now, and I got a 1410 (This was during the old 2400 SAT). I am now 19 and want to go to schools like RIT, thats my top choice, and I now just finished my first year of my local CC with a 3.00 GPA. Should I retake my SAT?
1410 out of 2400? Did you do SAT preparation? If not then you probably should.
If you do SAT preparation, they can give you a practice test and get a pretty good idea what you might score if you retake the SAT.
Try to get your grades up in your second year of CC if you can (assuming that you are planning a second year).
Stay ahead of your work. Stay ahead of your reading. Do homework the day that it is handed out. This will help you learn a bit more, which helps you pick up a bit more in your next class, which helps you get ahead, which makes the next homework easier. I didn’t learn this trick until graduate school (I didn’t need it in high school, and suffered a bit in the middle before I figure it out).
Good luck!
Yes, you need to retake. Your score is low on the old one, and they might not even accept the old one next year. Frankly, I think you should consider the ACT. IMO, the new SAT is more difficult than the old one.
EDIT: Sorry, you are already in CC. You don’t need to retake the SAT, but you do need to have really strong grades. I will leave my other response for any other readers.
Retake it, you still have time in hand and there are chances they will not accept the old test results. Good Luck!!
