I am an international student and I would like to major in Math and Economics. I sat for the SAT Chemistry, Physics and Math II subject tests and got 730, 740 and 800 respectively. Should I consider taking the Physics and Chemistry subject tests again and try to get as close as possible to perfect scores? I am aiming at both LACs and the IVY league schools. However, my SAT scores are poor (1960), but I have maintained a GPA of 3.9 throughout high-school.
Your SAT 2 scores are pretty competitive. Have you considered retaking the SAT 1 instead? 1960 is solid, but it is quite low for the ivies and selective LACs, so if you were to retake any test-I would focus on this one. Test scores obviously aren’t everything, but I think it will help make you a bit more competitive applicant if you can score a 2200+. Also, if you don’t like the SAT you could always try out the ACT and see if you do better on that one. Some people do the same on both, but others’ scores vary significantly based on the test. Good luck!
Thanks for the advice asappebble. I will retake SAT 1 next October
No do not retake the subject tests. Subject tests do not play a huge role in admissions and your scores show proficiency in those areas. The SAT I is much more important and you definitely need to retake that
