I got my results for Spanish and it turns out I got a 530 (yea... horrible on all of you people's standards. Kinda embarassed), which only qualifies me for spanish 123 at Cornell.

My question is: should I get tutored in Spanish and study so that I can score past a 590 and place into intermediate Spanish and only have to take 1 semester then have my lanugage requirement completed; or, should I just accept this score and place into spanish 123 because that's where my level is and an advanced class might make my grade suffer?

For some further information, I'm pretty sure that I can score the extra 60 points to get a 590 if I study with the princeton review and self-study, but I just want to know if I will fall behind in the class if I barely make it.

Also, can someone tell me how much of the Spanish 209 at Cornell is based on oral?
