Should I retake the Lit SAT II?

I took it in January and got an 700. I'm a bit disappointed because I was aiming a bit higher.

Some background: I took Spanish w/Listening in November and got an 800, but I'm worried some schools might discount this because I am fluent in Spanish (though not native speaker). I am taking US History in May, and I'm expecting a 750+ because I'm in AP this year, and I'm planning on studying for this test.

I'm planning on applying to some competitive schools, and most only require 2 SAT II's.
Should I retake Lit in May and do scorechoice? What do you think?

No, a 700 in Lit is fine. Don’t worry about it :)

Agreed with XO. 700+ is good on any subject test. Congrats=]

Except Chinese, Japanese, and Korean- I read online that the average is 740-ish for each of those exams.

What if I’m considering applying as an English major? Will this score really hurt me then?

I do not believe so. Universities realize that the potential major listed on a college application is only a tentative declaration.

^Agreed with mifune. Besides, they’ll also see that you took it as a junior, so you’ll probably have covered less of a curriculum than someone who took the Lit sat II as a senior.
700 is still a fine score and I would send it with your other strong scores. And congrats on the Spanish! It’s still great even if you are fluent :]

Thanks everyone
It came out today that that score only puts me in the 82 percentile. Should I retake it based on that?

No that percentile is pretty good consdiering that only realtively smart kids take the SAT IIs, so you got towards the top in comparis on to other smart kids. =]

Thanks teamfrangela92

Also, I’m slightly confused… it says my percentile in relation to college-bound seniors, but I’m a junior. Is this a mistake?

Not really, you are not compared to those in your grade per se, but the percentile is representative of your performance relative to others who took the test.
