Should I retake the SAT if I am on an upward trend?

Okay as I am anxiously awaiting the May SAT scores I figured I'd pose this question.

Should I take the SAT for a fourth time?

1st time: 1510 CR:620, M:440, W:450, E:6

2nd time: 1780 CR:690, M:520, W:590, E:8

3rd time: ??? (after 5 months of tutoring)

If I get an 1850 on the May test should I take it again or be content with that score even though there may be a chance of scoring higher w/ more tutoring?

If I get below an 1850 on the May SAT should I take it again?

I am not applying to any ivies and I know my scores in general are not great, the most prestigious school I will apply to is UNC-CH.

For UNC, you definitely need above 1850. Maybe 2000. You seem to be doing really well on the CR but not so great on the other two sections. Try to bring the writing to a 650 and the math to a 620 or something.

So I should take it for a fourth time? Is that not too excessive? or with the score choice will it not matter?

bump for the evening crowd. :)

definitely retake my score jumped 240 pts from test 1 to test 3 (2100 to 2340) without tutoring, so if you are doing tutoring I sincerely believe that you can jump up to a 1900 or better! (which we definitely help you w/UNC-CH)

good luck!
