I got a 2270, which is a huge improvement over what I got last time (a 2040), but I'm considering whether to be done with SATs. I know it's a high score, relatively, but I'm looking at applying to schools such as MIT and CalTech - is it worth it to retake it and get a 2300+?

what the hell?

why retake?

not necessary, but it would look nice.

man going to 2320-2350 won't add to your applucation a lot...2270 in SAT proves well enough that you are good at Eng/Maths....also colleges like MIT and Caltech don't bother that much about the SAT scores if they are already in the zone (which yours are)...so i suggest that you pay more attention on compiling an impressive application and just be done with the SATs !!
