I took the SATs in March and got a 1830 (Math 660, Reading 570, Writing 600) Which is good enough to get into most of the colleges that I'm looking at (Pitt and Penn State). I also got a 710 on the Physics SAT2, but that's neither here nor there.

But I'm wondering if I should retest or take the ACT instead of doing that. Do CCers find one test easier than the other? Any and all advice is welcome.

I personally found the ACT easier but it varies by person. Your scores should be good but there is no harm in improving your chances if you feel you could increase your scores.

I found the SAT to be more difficult for me, and I have found that the trend is that science/math people tend to do better at the ACT. The ACT also feels shorter.

Did you take the PSAT?
People say that if you do better on the math portion of the PSAT, you might do better on the SAT whereas if you do better on the writing portion, you might do better on the ACT.
I did better on the on the math one year and better on the writing one year so I ended up taking both the ACT and SAT. I scored around the same score for both. Personally, the ACT wasn’t bad but plenty of my friends who took it at the same time thought it was awful…likely because there’s a greater focus on the SAT and limited exposure to the ACT.
The SAT is based more on reasoning and logic whereas the ACT is meant to be more actual learnable knowledge. Depending on what your strengths are, you can retake the SAT or try taking the ACT. Before you take the ACT though, make sure you take numerous practice tests just because it’s really different from the SAT, especially with the added science section.
