Should I send in a portfolio for USC even if I'm not applying to art?

Hi,

If I have a portfolio that I want to send in to USC, but I'm not applying for any art related majors, should I still send it in (since it says not to send it in if you're not applying for art)?
The thing is that I am applying for history, and my art portfolio relates to history. If I can send it in, how do I send it since the online submission is only for art schools? Do I mail a cd copy of my portfolio to USC?

Thank you!

ohbanana–did you actually post a question and include the actual correct official answer (“it says NOT TO SEND IT IN IF YOU’RE NOT APPLYING FOR ART”)? And then ask this forum how you can circumvent the rules?

USC Dornsife admissions does not welcome extra submitted material, and they say so explicitly. Now doesn’t it make sense why there is no way to submit your portfolio online?

It’s rather important to adcoms who get over 47,000 applications that the applicant can follow simple clear instructions.

I called USC and they said it was okay, but I’m asking to see if anyone has any experience with this.

One can’t help but wonder why you would ask a question when you have no interest in the answer (and to which you already have the answer).

A hypothesis: Those with experience in ignoring USC application instructions will not see this on the USC forum because they are currently attending a school which accepted them.

Good luck.
