Should I send it?

So today I was bored, and I'm afraid I haven't shown enough interest in Macalester, so I made a book entitled Top Five Reasons Why My Name Should be at Macalester. And it has the top 5 reasons (some are silly and some are serious) why I should be at Macalester accompanied with pictures that correspond to the reasons and shapes I cut out. Basically it looks like an elementary school craft project (but cooler and more mature)

I finished it and now I'm wondering if I should send it. I think that it is silly and fun in a good way, but I don't want them to think it is retarded and have it harm my application. What do you guys think I should do?

If those 5 reasons are generic, like diversity, small size etc. then dont send it.
If the reasons are more personal, then send it.

isn't that why we write personal statements?

I agree with jsmall- if the reasons are personalized to you or personalized to Macalester, to for it. I think they appreciate quirky. But this is just my opinion! Augh! Could you maybe send it to them in an envelope with a more serious update? A new award or a new letter of rec?

hahahha
Okay, this may give you some courage to send it in.

For my "Why Macalester?" essay, I did some brainstorming on a tape recorder... I KNEW what I wanted to say, just not how to say it. My AP English teacher recommended this to us for compositions, so I figured why not.
Expecting something horrible, I was kind of pleased at how nice it sounded on a tape.

... I sent the tape to Mac - with a transcript, of course.

A few days ago, I got a call from Admissions telling me I was missing something and the woman on the line said "Oh, by the way, they LOVED your tape! Very creative."

I say go for it, send it in. Mac loves demonstrated interest and I'm sure it wouldn't hurt your application. :)

The reasons are definitely not generic at all, and while I was there this week I took pictures and stuff that I'm going to use in the book as well.

Go for it!! Colleges love personal! It lets them know that they're not just a name to you and you are passionate about going there. It's like how it's a plus to visit a school, they know that you took the time to show interest.
