Should I send my SAT or ACT scores?

I took the SAT I in March and received a 2030 (740 CR, 680 Math, 610 Writing (Ouch!)). I just took the ACT in April and got a 33 composite with no essay (34 Eng., 33 Math, 32 Reading, 34 Science).
I will be applying to engineering schools in the fall, hoping to attend Case Western (#1 choice) or Carnegie Mellon. Which scores should I send them?

Also, should I take either of the tests again?

I am taking either SAT I or II (Math 2 and Physics) in June, any advice there?
Cheers.

Have you gone to the college websites to read what their testing requirements are?

CMU requires all testing to be sent:

[Admission > Admission Requirements](<a href=“Home - Computing Services - Office of the CIO - Carnegie Mellon University”>Home - Computing Services - Office of the CIO - Carnegie Mellon University)

If you submit the ACT, Case requires ACT w/writing:

[Undergraduate Admission : Application Instructions and Deadlines](<a href=“Undergraduate Admission | Case Western Reserve University”>Undergraduate Admission | Case Western Reserve University)

overall, the ACT score is much better than the SAT (i was in a similar situation, scored a 2070 sat and 34 act). but almost all top schools require the writing with the ACT…

Just send all your scores to all your colleges. It’s the easiest way. People spend too much time thinking the colleges are going to look at one score and reject them outright without even considering the others. Your SAT score isn’t not a bad score and the colleges will see your ACT and use that if it ever comes down to a critical decision.

Agree with Fermat25. Also, many colleges discount CR and w/o that your SAT score is 1420, which is good for all but the Ivy’s and a few other very competitive schools.

I’m pretty sure you meant W, not CR as CR is very important to all schools.

If you could take SAT I again and break 700 math, it would be worth it to send that. Otherwise, your ACT score is nice (but not totally great).
