You know how you can choose 4 colleges to send your score to?
Well, I chose my top 4 colleges, but now I'm scared that I did really bad on the SATs! We don't get to know our scores before they send them out, so I'm super freaked that I'll get a really bad score. I'm not confident about it at all. I left a lot blank, especially in the math fill on the boxy thing section and my essay was probably the worst thing I've ever written.

I'm going to take it again in the fall, of course.
Should I send my 4 free scores out? Or should I wait until fall to do all that, so I'm sure of my score?
I heard it's good to send it out because it's free and it shows colleges that you were interested from early on.

Colleges only look at the higher scores. You can send out your scores to the colleges you are planning to apply to and then resend your new scores if you do much better. It won’t harm you.

I can’t think of a good reason why you want to send the scores now if you are taking it again especially if you think you might not have done that well. Also if you are going to be taking SATIIs in June, you can wait until then or afterwards in the Fall to send the scores. If you send some scores now, you will have to send again after you take SATIIs or after your next SAT. You end up don’t save any money plus if the school accepts score choice, you can send only the ones you want to later on. If you already have taken SATIIs, I can see that you may want to send the scores to some of your safety schools. If your score does not improve a lot then you may not want to update your safety schools with your new scores.

can you send your scores to colleges after you see what you got?

Yes, you can send after you got your scores, but at $10 each.

Thanks, I was considering taking the SAT in June with only about a month of prep and I was concerned that colleges might see my score if it was low. How much is the score choice where you only send scores of certain sections?

You don’t incur additional cost when using score choice. Anytime you send a score whether it is free or paid, you now can select which set of scores to send. BTW, you select a set of scores from a particular sitting, not certain sections of score, when you use score choice. So for example, if you take April and June SAT, you have a choice to either send all April scores or all June scores or both.
