Should I Send My Subject Tests Scores?

So here’s the dilemma:

I’m hoping to major in a biology-related field. have a pretty solid SAT score (1530). My extracurriculars are pretty average (volunteering, working, clubs, student government, summer service-abroad program, local but no national awards). My essays are good and I think they do convey who I am as a person.

I am applying to most UCs, Cornell, Columbia, Stanford, Brown, UPenn, and USC (maybe Princeton or Yale). I know that most of these schools “recommend” subject tests but obviously it’s best to have it sent in. Good subject test scores are what I’m lacking. I have a 700 Math II, 680 Bio-E, and 650 US History. (I got 600 in both Math II and Biology on my first try… and both Stanford and Cornell will see it since they don’t allow score choice). I crammed these last subject tests on the last possible date and regret doing that. I also am currently taking AP Bio but I wish I had taken it my junior year.

Please give me advice on whether I should send these scores in (and please be specific to each college). The way I could see it helping me (if I send it in) is if someone doesn’t have subject tests and they see that I took the initiative to try it. However, it’s more likely that it will be seen as a bad thing to get such low scores. I’m really passionate about biology but my score doesn’t reflect that… and I’m worried the admission officers will assume that I don’t have the capability.

Please Help!

Oh also, my AP scores are lacking a little too. I got a 3 in both ELC and Studio Art: 3D. I got a 4 in APUSH.

They will hurt your applications for Cornell, Columbia, Stanford, Brown, and UPenn if you submit your scores. It depends on which UC and I don’t know enough about USC to voice my opinion on that.

Thanks for inputting. If you don’t mind me asking, what are your sources/experience? I just want to get a sense of your credibility. Thanks!

Bump! Please help!
