I was deferred ED, and I retook the SAT's in DEC. My score are:

CR 740-->750
M 760-->790
W 710-->680 (!!!)

Total 2210-->2220, superscore 2250. Columbia superscores (right?), so should I send my Dec scores or will the 680 in writing look bad enough to counter the 40 point increase?

Or are these scores not gonna make a difference anyway and I should save $10?

Yeah, they superscore-- because on the application you tell the date and the best score received for each section separately.

I think it would only help your application to send it; whether it's worth the $10 is up to you. (I don't know Columbia's particular policy regarding the writing section of the SAT, but I would guess they don't weight it as heavily as the other two sections.)

a good portion of decisions have largely been made by march 6th, so by the time things could get mailed there it probably wouldn't matter.

I would send your first trimester's report and attach a note with the mailing that because of your school's trimester system, you won't be submitting any further grades.
