Should I stay or should I go? (Penn State vs Baruch College)

Hello,
I'm currently attending Penn State University in a STEM program. I however have come to the realization that I don't have to be a doctor to help people so I'm trying to figure things out. I love travel and am currently thinking about doing international business. Penn State does not have it as a major and I am going to be paying out of state tuition. Baruch, which has it, would also require me to minor in a language and either marketing or finance. Plus I would be able to pay NYS residence prices. The only problem is I'm not 100% sure if I want to go into business so do I just take this chance and go with it?

you might also consider international relations as a major, particularly as you want to help people:

You would be able to stay at PSU if you wanted to, or find programs at other NYS publics such as Albany and Binghamton.

I can’t imagine why you would attend PSU OOS before med school. Look for in-state options.

You might consider a degree in Econ rather than IR or International Business. Most Econ programs offer lots of courses that deal with the economics and political issues of the developing world (and the US). You will likely develop a much better ability to understand AND quantitatively and analytically attack real world problems than you would with a degree in IR or business. Typical courses include…

History of Economic Thought
Labor Economics
Economics of Discrimination
Cooperatives
Economic Development
Entrepreneurship in Agriculture
International Trade and Finance
Environmental and Resource Economics
Economies of China and India
International Trade
International Finance
Agricultural, Food, and Trade Policy
