Should I submit my ACT score?

Hi to All!

I am applying to early decision to Smith College. I received a 28 composite score on my ACT that I took in October.

I received a 32 in English, a 30 in Reading, a 26 in Mathematics, and a 23 in Science.

My question for you is should I submit my ACT score or should I not?

Advice is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time.

Best wishes.

I’m not really sure I can evaluate your ACT score as I’m more familiar with SATs. Does Smith publish an average range of ACT scores? Check against that. Obviously if your composite score is better, then go for it. If other aspects of your application are really strong (grades, ECs, letters of recommendation, etc.), then you might want to skip submitting your ACT if it’s at the bottom of Smith’s range.

I think the median of ACT scores Smith gets is from a 28 to a 29.
If your gpa or rank is on the low side, then I think you should send the ACT. But if your grades and rank look pretty good, then I don’t think you should send it.
