I am currently a freshman, just finishing my second day of high school. Last year, I took geometry honors, so I figured I would take Algebra 2. However, my school only offers Algebra 2, Algebra 2 Trig, and Algebra 2 Trig Honors. So with me being a freshman taking a sophomore class, i decided to choose the middle option, Algebra 2 Trig. We started it two days ago, but all we have been doing is review. The class seems really fairly easy to me, but then again we are only reviewing. I want to take Honors Pre calc to set me up for AP calc AB and BC for the next couple of years. Will the transition from Algebra 2 Trig to Honors Pre calc be too much?
Why not try to switch into Algebra 2 Trig Honors?
All any teacher in Algebra II does the first week or two is review.
Many kids go from Algebra I to Geometry, then to Algebra II. So for most, it’s been a good 14 months since they solved more than a basic equation or factored. If teachers don’t review the basics, the kids are off to a rough start.
The kids in honors are doing the exact same review.

My daughter took Geometry in 8th grade last year and is taking Alg. 2/Trig honors this year as a freshman. They are doing review of Algebra, as well. They all do it.
Ask your middle school and current teacher whether you could try to take the Honors version, explaining what you said above.
