Hey, I’m in high school and I’ve taken most of Geometry but not all of it. I’m currently placed in Geometry Honors but I’m thinking of adding Algebra II instead. Is Algebra II hard or easy, and do I need all of the skills taught in Geometry?
Most of the kids I’ve taught find Algebra II & Trig to be a very comprehensive course.
Not too many skills transfer from Geometry-- primarily the stuff on similarity and the special triangles.
When you say you’ve taken “most of Geometry”-- does that mean you don’t have credit for a geometry course? That would be a pretty basic chunk to be missing from your transcript.
I’m a freshman this year, and I’ve taken more than 70% of Geometry in 8th grade.
HOw do you get credit for a high school course that you’ve taken 70% of in middle school?
Unless I’m missing something, you need to reread what you wrote.
So based upon your own words, you can “think” whatever you like, but your school obviously thinks differently since they “placed” you in geometry. Until you prove to their satisfaction that you have mastered geometry, the question of moving ahead to Algebra II/Trig is moot.
Sorry I didn’t know explain more thoroughly, I have it figured it out.
