I am thinking about switching schools.

I just finished my freshman year and in my high school, we are losing half of our teachers. We had about 90-95 teachers and next semester we will have only 30-40 teachers.

The reason why this is happening is because my school has a lot of weed-smokers and lazy people and therefore they bring our school's test scores down (I don't have all the info.). Yes 30-40 TEACHERS for about 1600-2000 students. So that means class sizes will be HUGE with about on average 44 students per class.

This also means that the variety of courses offered at my school will be gone! Such as electives (ceramics, art, etc.). With less teachers, the teachers would have to teach more of the main classes such as english, math, science, history, etc. so they don't have space to teach electives. But only a few electives would be available.

Also the quality of education that I will get will be greatly diminished by the huge class sizes, so therefore I can't get the individual attention that I need.

I am asking for advice on this! I asked my parents about it and they are about 50-50 about me changing schools.

I want to attend a high school at least 5 miles away from my home.
Pros about it:
- It's a VERY good school
- More variety of classes, specifically more AP classes
- Classes won't be as huge as my current high school

Cons about it:
- 5 miles away from home -_-
- i might have trouble getting home sometimes

whereas the current high school i'm attending is only a short walk away from my home.

Please, advice would be appreciated! I know this was long, but i separated the main ideas!

Should i change schools?
