Should I TAG UCSC?

I've heard several different things about some of the UC's and what kind of people they let in, so here it is;
Either I want to "TAG" UC Santa Cruz or I want to apply for Berkeley, Davis, Santa Barbara, and Santa Cruz as well as San Jose State, Chico State, Norther Arizona University, and maybe Sacramento State.
A friend of mine who is majoring in Anthro got into Santa Cruz with a 3.2 but then again thats not the major I'll be going for and on TOP of that another friend of mine has a 3.4 GPA(Bio major) and has been rejected from every UC so far.

So, I need opinions. Here are my stats.

20 year old CC student
Working towards AA-T in English
GPA: 3.2 by the end of this Fall(2014) to transfer over in the Fall of 2015, will graduate CC with around a 3.3 or 3.4
Killer personal statement (according to everyone who has read it)
A fair portion of campus activity(clubs, volunteer, involvement in the arts)
No honors courses, but I still have two semesters to take something if it's that important I take one.

Now I realize my GPA is pretty low by UC standards but do you think I have a chance with TAGing UCSC? It's my first choice and I want to go there so incredibly badly but I don't want to TAG it and then not get accepted into my major…

Help.

Look at the TAG requirements for UCSC

<a href=“University of California Counselors”>University of California Counselors;

You’d need a 3.0 GPA minimum, so you’re good for that part. The 60 transferable units is a universal requirement with or without TAG, so make sure you have that by Spring 2015 if you’re planning to attend UCSC in Fall 2015.

If you want to go to UCSC that badly and meet the TAG requirements, there is no reason not to TAG unless you’re planning on using it to another campus.

I don’t understand why you have this either – or. There is no reason not to submit a TAG application to Santa Cruz and also apply to those other schools.

@mikemac‌ I was led to believe you can TAG a UC but if you do you won’t be able to apply anywhere else…
It always seemed silly to me but if that information is false please let me know because that would make my life SO MUCH easier.

@anash678‌ that info is definitely false.you can tag to one of the schools but apply elsewhere for regular transfer.goodluck
