Should I take AP Chem or Latin II?

I’m currently a sophomore trying to figure out my schedule for next year. As of right now, my schedule looks like this:

AP Calc AB
Physics HD
AP Lang
AP Spanish V
AP US History
Latin II
Advanced Orchestra

If I were to take AP Chem, I would have to drop Latin II and Advanced Orchestra. However, I think I want to go into a STEM field, so it would probably help me more than Latin and Orchestra. I’ve also heard it’s really hard at my school, so I’m a little scared. I haven’t taken an AP before, as sophomores at my school aren’t allowed to take them. I really liked Chemistry HD though, so I think I might do okay.

Any advice or ideas are appreciated!!

I don’t think that taking 3 high-level math classes would work very well. You’d have Physics Chem AND Calc on the same schedule – absolutely brutal!

If you want to take it, just take it your senior year! Colleges want to see you challenge yourselves, but only if you can keep your grades up. Having a passion for music, AND taking a language – those two combined is probably MORE important than an AP Chemistry class!

I wish you the best of luck in your academic success.

if you feel confident you cant withstand such courseload, then do it. Taking 2 languages same year can be difficult and not very useful since u already take spanish. plus taking ap chem means u have fewer classes to worry about, so take it if you feel confident in other classes
