So I have a 5 in Eng Language and when I looked at the Penn AP credit table it says that Eng Language and Literature both give "English Freshman Free (1 c.u.) " So if I have both do I get 2 credit or not?
So is it worth taking Eng. Lit?

You would indeed get a second credit, but it's not worth taking, as that credit isn't really worth anything.

By not worth anything, do you mean that the credit can be filled with other classes like science and history? Or do you mean that taking the actual English class (the one that the AP test would have replace) at Penn is a good idea?

There is no corresponding Penn class for the AP English classes. The credit you receive for AP English doesn't really fulfill any requirements.

You're required to take a freshman writing class, which can't be filled by AP credit.

but....for the sake of answering ur original q.....i think u should definitely take ap english lit because penn would like to see the extra AP.

so taking the AP Lit test has no potential benefit in any way? i have to send in my AP money and the answer to this would be great. also, for a Wharton student, how about AP Chem? would doing well on that get you out of anything in the Wharton curriculum or additional courses or anything?

For an admitted student, the AP Lit test has no real value. You can use it as a "free" elective, but those aren't hard to come by, anyway. If you have a lot of other tests to study for, you'd be better off doing well on those.

AP Chem for a Wharton student could fill one of the science requirements, I believe. However, to fill those, most wharton students take victimology and criminology, two of the easiest classes at Penn
