Should I take Spanish 4 IB or AP Spanish Lang Junior year?

Hello,

I am choosing classes for next year(will be a junior), this is what my classes look like so far…

APUSH
AP Lang
AP Psych
AP Bio
Pre-Calc/Trig Honors (might be AP Calc AB if I do a summer course… not sure about that yet)

So my queston is, should I take Spanish 4 IB or take AP Spanish Lang? I am currently in Spanish 3 and I have been getting A’s. My Spanish 3 teacher also teaches AP Spanish Lang as well. A lot of people I know that are taking AP Spanish Lang right now say the class is pretty easy and fun… and since I am familiar with this teacher already I feel like it shouldn’t be a problem…

I appreciate all of the responses and Thank You in advance!

I assume the IB class is SL.

I would look at the colleges you are considering and see if they have an FL requirement. If so, which one gets you credit or placement (if that matters to you.)

If you aren’t doing the IBD, AP probably will be more valuable.

Either one is ok. AP Spanish will likely give you credit but since you have a very rigorous schedule take whichever sounds good znd doable to you.

Don’t take precalculus over the summer (see a thread on this very forum about precalculus over the summer. Summary: even very strong students regretted it).

Drop AP psych. Keep it as an elective for senior year, or take it as a non AP.
I would not recommend more than 4 APs - it’s better to have As in all 4 than a lot of AP with various grades.
