As a member of the class of 2017, I have read from multiple websites that I should try to take the old SAT. I will have four chances to take the old SAT if I decide to do this. If I take the old SAT in October and am not happy with my score, would I be able to wait until March to take the new SAT?
@alexameagan21 My brother is part of the class of 2017. My dad hates the new SAT (have you seen it? It’s not exactly a walk in the park) so he signed my brother up for ALL FOUR remaining sessions of the old SAT (Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan). Take a practice test for the old SAT. If you think you do well enough, take the test in October, and if you are unhappy with that score, try taking it again in the remaining test dates if you feel like it. Since you are a member of the class of 2017, you are free to take the old SAT, new SAT+writing, and the ACT when you submit tests to colleges. If you feel like the old SAT isn’t your piece of cake, just wait it out until March.
You wont get your March SAT scores until after the June SAT
^ and that. Regardless, the old SAT is not that bad. I got a 2140 (meh) the first time I ever took it, and then a 2210 (ok) 3 months later.
Personally, I would try the old one and the new one if money isn’t an issue. I would also take the ACT at least once unless your SAT is extremely high
