Should i take the SAT again, the fourth time :(

march 1720
may 1900
october expecting 2000-2100
december???

would YOU take it again???

if u extrapolate the data yes i would

haha- yes you have the potential to go up more, but i still wouldnt take it again

my case
7th grade- 1140
8th grade- 1160
11th grade november- 1340
11th grade march- 2180 (1500 m + cr)
12th grade october- expecting around 2200 (1500 again)

what would you do?

ckmets13, I would not retake, especially since you have a pretty good score and are about to get another good one.

Try not to take the SAT more than 3 times.

sure, extrapolating the data would make it seem like your sat score would go higher...but extrapolating isn't a good idea...it seems like that if you are expecting a 2000-2100 then there is no real need of taking the test again, seeing that that is a pretty darn good score

Take the SAT as many times as you want. By the time the actual adcoms look at your app, only the highest score remains.

for Upenn 2100 is not a good enough score, thats why I dont know if i should take the SAT again (4th time)

is that really true? adcoms dont see how many times you took it?

um no they do
but they might be nice and take the highest score from each section :)

haha, for me, took it 3 times

1-2160
2-2260
3-2010

it was a good trend till I hit that 3rd retake and didn't care so I bombed.

wait..shouldnt take it more than 3 times???

1st time: February, 2005= 1110
2nd time: October, 2005: 1900-2000

Im still a sophomore so should I take it 2-3 more times or wait 2 years than take it one final time?

If you're a sophomore, that's probably different. But seriously, I don't see any difference getting as many practices as you are than just taking it a couple times. I never did any prep work or bought SAT books or even took the test before March of junior year but the second time through (in May) came out with 1530 which I'm very satisfied with.

Don't wait 2 years, wait 1. I'd say get them done second half of your junior year. You've got 3 chances then. If none of those are good enough for your schools, well, bet on one FINAL shot in October of senior year and then move on to SAT IIs. Or you could probably prep a couple SAT IIs the summer between sophomore and junior years and get them done then. The less stress, the better.

if i took the sat a fourth time and went down 70 between math and verbal...does that look too bad?
