Should I take the SAT in October if I'm planning to do early decision?

I took the May SAT, and I am sure I will want to take the SAT again... I need really good SATs. But I'm planing to take two SAT Subject Tests in June (in US History and Literature) because I'm currently enrolled in US History and the subject matter will be fresh in my mind. If I did this I would take the SAT for the 2nd time in October.

If I take the SAT in October what are the chances that my scores will get in to W&M by the time that they need to? I really can't take them in June, because if I don't get into W&M I would like to have subject tests for some other schools I'm considering. I have read that they will be on October 1st, but I'm not sure.

I need to make a decision fast, so your response is appreciated greatly.

Thanks :D

We just responded to your other post but we would recommend taking the SAT I again in June rather than SAT IIs since W&M doesn’t require or recommend SAT IIs but we do of course require and evaluate the SAT I. Additionally, while October SAT I results do generally make it to us in time to be considered during ED we cannot guarantee that they will.

If you’re really focused on the SAT II you could take that in June and take the September ACT and October SAT. That will give you additional chances to improve your scores.

Thanks for the tip on taking the September ACT. I’m going to go ahead and do the subject tests for June, although I’m mostly taking them for schools other than W&M that I am looking at.

Good luck!
