Hello, I'm stuck on deciding between these choices.

I got a 1.825 my first semester as a freshmen and by the spring term I was only able to pull it up to a 2.877. The thing is I need a 3.0 for some of my financial aid awards, without a 3.0 I would have to pay 15k more a semester until I get a 3.0 (which I can probably achieve by Spring).

Should I pay 6k to take 2 summer courses in which I must get an A for both of them (to get a 3.0, which is basically like a 6k gamble, I don't know if I can get those A's) or should I transfer to a CUNY? If I do appy to CUNYs I would only be admitted on a space-available basis. But 15k is a lot of money that I can't exactly afford but I guess I could take it out in loans.

I've been planning on transferring from my current college anyway because I want a clean slate. So, even if I take the 2 summer courses, I would be transferring out in a semester/year. If I transfer to a CUNY, I would also still transfer out because I want to live in a dorm and don't want to commute. Will it look bad if I transfer twice?

What should I do? Your advice on this would be greatly appreciated, thank you!!

I redid the math and turns out I only need 2 A-'s/ 1 A and 1 B+ to get a 3.0, this gives me a bit more breathing room.

Another thing that might complicate transferring for me is that I don’t have a major declared and don’t know what I want to do.

I guess if I can’t have a clean slate, I’m leaning towards staying at my current college, improving my current GPA and transferring later. Or should I get the 3.0 from taking the summer classes and then transfer out in time for fall? Is that possible?

Thank you for the replies =), any other opinions on this?
