So I am just about to transfer because I am about to finish my second year at community college in VA. I don’t know a lot about Miami, aside from academics and what is on their website, and would love to hear what students have to say about their school. What is Coral Gables like? Professors? Classes? Greek life? Night life? Is it worth the out of state price or no?
It is a private university, so everyone pays that price.
IMO, try and transfer to an in state college if you can (if money is an issue).
UM’s campus is beautiful, but unlike most campuses. Not much brick, it has a really SoFlo feel.
@savleigh we too are from VA and we spent spring break in Miami. Coral Gables appears to be a nice community with plenty of shops and restaurants. It’s also close to downtown Miami. There is so much to do on campus and the campus is absolutely gorgeous. My daughter loves it there and is now having a hard time deciding between Miami and NYU(dream school).
UM is very nice all around and a pleasant place to be. Do be sure to check where you have the money advantage since VA also has very nice schools.
