Should I transfer to Virgina Tech? And what are my chances of getting in?

I am currently enrolled at the University of Maine (Orono) as a freshmen this upcoming semester as an Economics major. I am thinking about transferring because I feel like there won't be a lot of good opportunities for internships, and networking opportunities to land, or get on track to a well paying job right out of college because I think there might not be a lot that goes in in Maine when it comes to business, banking, consulting, etc. The only good thing about UMaine is that they gave me 24 grand in grants and scholarships.

Here is what was basically on my college application:
Overall Cumulative GPA: 89 out of 100 (My high school did not use the 4.0 scale)
SAT Score: 1500 out 2400 (I know its average)
High School Sports: 4 seasons of Basketball with 2 Varsity Letters, 2 seasons of Football with 1 Letter, 1 season of spring track and field and I was a recipient of the New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association Scholar Athlete award for performance in school, sports and the community
Boy scouts: Eagle Scout with a bronze palm
Martial Arts: Level One Black belt in Combined Kenpo
Community Service: I supervised my eagle scout project at my church, and it took a total of 454 volunteer hours, 150 hours of my time
I volunteered in the NH Food drive once a year for 7 years.

I know that my SAT Scores are average, I was just wondering if I keep my grades up freshmen year (like a 3.7+) and stay active in organizations and clubs, would it be better/possible for me to transfer to a better school like:
Virginia Tech, Ohio State, University of Minnesota (Twin Cities), or University of Florida (All pretty good schools, that aren't too expensive which is why I am naming them if you have ant other suggestions of schools please include them).

Do you think I would be able to get in as a transfer to one of these schools for my sophomore year? or should I wait until my junior year? (I'd rather go sophomore year, so I don't get stuck leaving a bunch of friends when I leave UMaine.) Would taking the SATs over again be a good idea? And what do you suggest I do to better my chances of getting in? Please help me out, any advice would be helpful.

SATs taken while you’re in college don’t count. Look at the Common Data Set of each school, Section D, to see what they look at for transfers. When they state scores are “required of some”, that probably means students with under two years in college.
