I never took pre-ap english 1 or 2 and I didn't really do well in english 2 (I did get an A 2nd semester). I got A's in AP eng 3 however(AP language). Yet I still got a 2 on the AP exam. This year, I'm taking AP english 4 and I did very poorly on the simulated practice AP exam which dropped my grade from an A to a B.

Should I get a AP review book and try to do the practice exams? I feel like even if I spend 2 weeks of my winter break I still won't get a 3 or above.

BTW, I have read-- albeit an excruciating experience-- the books assigned to us in class, page to page, and only after finishing the book would I use sparknotes to review for a test in AP english 3. This was the only facet that accounted for my getting a 97 semester average.

I blame myself for not taking pre-ap english which would have prepared me for the AP test -- knowing what metonomy, epithet, asyndeton, and other literary terms were would have helped a lot on the AP language test.
