I appreciate all the answer's I can get.
I am currently attending the University of South Florida and I'm not a huge fan of all of the partying and the lack of concentration on studies by the students as a whole. As a result, I feel that I would like to transfer to a school that has always been a dream of mine - Stanford University. I had a 3.9 unweighted, 4.5 weighted GPA in High School with many AP credits and ranked in the top 2% of the class. Currently in college I have a 4.0 GPA and am quite frankly bored at this university. I would love to have your opinion to see if you think I should try to transfer (ergo even have a chance of making the slim pickings) or just stay put and trudge through the monotonous days? I don't know if this will help at all but my race is White/NonHispanic and my mom has an average income.

I think you should definitely try… the transfer acceptance rate it quite low (around 2% if I recall?) but don’t let that discourage you (it’s better than 0%, and you seem to have great credentials)! If you’re really unhappy, I would suggest applying to a few different schools. For example, I know that Vanderbilt has a high transfer acceptance rate.

i agree^
you will find that it is very worth the effort to go to an elite institution, not for the elitism, but the amazing opportunities.
definitely try, but apply to a diverse group of colleges because Stanford tends to admit about 5 (give or take a few) transfer students from traditional universities. out of 20 transfers, about 50-75% are non-traditional or CC students each year
