showers at boarding school

hey guys,

im just wondering what the shower situation is, obviously everybody showers naked, but for those who arn't very far into puberty how much ridicule do they face? or is it something you'll get teased about for a month and then it will be over?

you wont get teased no one wants to face DC for sexual harrassment

Are there shower stalls or is in just one open thing?

arnt the showers like private?

I hope so. I'm going to a boarding school for a summer program and it would be really weird if it were just one open room with shower heads along the walls.

Check it out, Jonathan1...you go into the Army and they don't even have stalls for the head!

In all honesty maybe you'll hear a little grief but I doubt enough to warrant DC. If you can get over it, they'll get over it. I could think of a few comebacks but rather not go there.

In the gym, some are open with just shower heads. The dorm showers usually private. Just not something I really checked out at the time.

Seniors rarely shower with freshmen in the gym. I know of a BS where freshmen may be on the V. hockey team but are not about to take showers with the senior team members, regardless. They go back to their dorms and save themselves all sorts of hassles.

Remember this is BS, comes with the package.

Further to my last line - please note, I'm not condoning bullying or harassing at any level, I'm just trying to say that it does happen but I don't believe in a mean spirited way, otherwise DC.

Oh man, I totally forgot about this one little disadvantage of boarding. No stalls? What about the girls' dorms?

In the dorms at Blair, there are doors or curtains (I forget which) for privacy in the shower. Perhaps this is typical. I've never seen the gym showers.

at SPS are the like bathroom showers private? yes right?

at hotchkiss, and i know at exeter too coz my friend goes there, there are no stalls in guys dorm.... there are always stalls in girls dorms

in fact...the guys at my dorm got ****ed when the administration wanted to install ONE stall, just ONE, in one of our lowerclass dorms becoz apparently..there are walls surrounding 3 showers and there's a gap in the middle for people to walk in and out...people used to block that gap and make a big tub...shower is like a ...social event?? lol... shower parties happen all the time....ya...wierd

Thank gosh, bearcats, I was like.... I hope it isn't like, a communal shower at Choate! Ew. Does anybody here know if they're private?

This discussion is well, hilarious. Hey D'yer Maker, remember yellow showers?

What? There are no private baths for guys dorms at Exeter?

holy ****tttt what about andover? i sure hope the girls dorms have stalls.

im anal about shower cleaniness and privacy lol

Hey, I just talked to my friend at Exeter, and she says that ALL dorms have private baths, and it's a lie that boy dorms don't have private baths. She says that all baths are separated by at least a shower curtain.

This is hilarious. Yes most decent boarding schools will have individual showers in the dorm, with at least a shower curtain in the entrance, if not a glass door.

PHEWWWWW.. i was freaking out just then when people were talking about showers without stalls/curtains. phew.

I went to an ISL school (which, for the purpose of this thread, will remain nameless--hehe,) where all of the guys' showers were open. (Dorms, the athletic center--everywhere.)
Talk about daily anatomy classes! Honestly, I think that I did more growing up that first week of communal showering than any week since! :)
That said, after two weeks, no one cared about the nudity.
