does anyone know if it's okay to fold the signature page and send it in a small envelope, or do we have to use a 9" x 11"?

Mine was sent in a small envelope

i put mines in a manila envelope with my application ( i did the paper application..... i suck)

small envelope for me

I'm going to send mine in tomorrow but what I've done is expanded the box by sticking a folded piece of paper on top of it (if that makes any sense). Is this "illegal"/"cheating" or considered not following instructions?? I just needed a bigger space to draw that's all..it's still "2D and scannable" 'cause it's more like somethingS that appeal to me instead of a singular thing...

idk if this helps but my picture went outside of the box

spongebodge i read older posts where people have done that to expand the box. I dunno if they got in though...You're still filling the box and it's not that important anyway so you'll be okay.

'the box' is truly legendary - what makes you realize that Rice is SO unique - and it appears they're giving applicants a shot at demonstrating their own uniqueness by allowing them to fill the box with whatever 'floats their boats' - I'll bet the admin office has LOADS of fun with this every year - and they're looking for some unique personalities for each year's freshman class - people who aren't afraid to say "Hey, I'm not 'ordinary' - and that's GOOD!"

i drew something and sent it in a small envelope

man then, i guess i screwed up cause my printer broke and so i just printed out a picture that i liked but it was all like ahhh...and i had no other choice so i sent it in...i have a feeling that this might just impact be very negatively...

I put my Fantasy Football team in the box.
My friend was accepted last year with a quote.

does anyone know whether the signature has to be submitted by January 2?

Glad to hear about the quote idea. My D did an interesting variation on that but I don't want to reveal what she did for obvious reasons.

uhh what is this signature page you guys are talking about? I don't see it in the supplement..?

You get it from Rice's application page.

DD put a scrap of fabric. DS put a picture of a tennis player. I don't think it is a make-or-break kind of thing. They both got in.

I don't personally think it's make or break either unless you do something fragrantly obscene. I just printed a picture from the internet as well.

An alumni told me that it's not a big deal at all. I quickly drew an owl using pen in about half an hour bc I had to rush to the post office :) Hopefully the admission officers wont notice my poor rushed technique :P

I did a crappy picture with of the three main religions. I just drew their symbols in black ink in about 10 minutes. It's not that big a part of the application. The essays are far more important.

is it a bad thing if i haven't sent it in yet? I'm planning to tomorrow, but of course the post office is closed tomorrow...

crap crap crap
