Hi,

I was wondering if both my custodial parent and non-custodial parent have to send their signed tax returned forms to colleges? I know my NCP has to complete the non-custodial PROFILE form, but is that it? I'm trying to complete the UChicago EA financial aid deadline of Nov 16.

I'm also confused as how to "send" the tax return forms. Do we mail it? If so, is the deadline a date for postmark date? Can we mail it? If so, do we mail it to the college's financial aid email or some other separate email address?

This is very confusing. Thanks!

Check your college website. The colleges are the ones that request tax forms (if they want them). The information about whether these are needed AND where to send them will be on the website(s) for the school(s).

Yes, if the school requires the Non custodial parent profile, your non-custodial parent will have to submit their tax forms also if the school requires tax forms to be submitted.

Yes, you can mail them. I would advise you to send them EARLY…not postmarked the exact day they are due. That’s cutting it too close. To mail them, you make a copy, make sure that they are signed (at the bottom of the second page, I believe)…and then put them in the mail.
