<p>I need four 42cent stamps for an app--the only stamps I have are the first-class one so does that mean I attach four of the first-class stamps or will one suffice?</p>

<p>One first-class stamp is only 42 cents. These are probably the ones you have. (BTW, they aren't really called 1st class stamps -- they are just the right amount of postage for a typical letter). If you need four 42 cent stamps (or $1.68 in total postage) then you need to put four first class stamps on the envelope.</p>
