Similar common app and supplement essays

<p>My common app essay speaks about a childhood (and current) fear, and how it helped me enjoy and discover science. However, my supplements to Johns Hopkins, Carnegie Mellon, and Cornell are also science related.</p>

<p>My common app essay, however, speaks more generally about my relationship with science, while those supplement essays talk more specifically about biology, engineering, computer science, and mathematics. </p>

<p>But would this make me seem too one-sided? I feel like having the same general theme in both essays wouldn't look good to admissions...</p>

<p>You have limited space to let schools know all the interesting things there are to know about you. Don’t retrace the same ground in several places on your applications unless you really believe that’s the best way of presenting yourself.</p>
