...do my chances hinge on my satII-retakes...?

great chance. i think you should retake the sat i instead of satii

hmmm...well, the thing is that my math should really be 750-800, but my writing will never be that high again (in fact, its probably truly closer to my original 610 :)) Obviously they only take the best single-sitting, so that makes things pretty difficult...
Also, would one SATII in the 600s really be acceptable in such a competitive pool?

Definitely bring your SATI to 2100+. Then it'll be okay for a 700+ SAT2 and a high-end 600+ one. That's how my scores were when I got in.

maybe the best solution would be to take the act for a third time and then retake the satiis? I really don't know if I can improve?

try retaking sat1. from my experience, its possible to get a higher score. first time i did it i scored 660cr 680m and was totally suprised at the reading score. Since my math sucked and im a math person, i had to retake it again. i ended up with a 670cr and 730m...but it could just be luck

i say you're in, but sat's don't really matter here at cal, u gotta watch out for those curved math classes(1b,1a, some 53's) and those hella an-ass-kickin cs courses if u're going to be a cs major...

How is the stickied thread dead?

Berkeley's a match. You seem like a typical applicant.

vicissitudes or whatever hasn't been chancing people for days...
I'm applying Undeclared/ Pre-Bus Admin...
My SATIs thus far (predicted for third if I take):
CR:590-->620-->(650)
W:610-->720*-->(700)
M:650-->700-->(760)

*absolute miracle

...would this retake really be worth it, seeing that my other SATII score (Spanish) is completely up in the air...?

Doesn't mean the thread is dead...

Anyway, the retake probably wouldn't mean much.
