Heck yeah. I’ll enjoy quac any day of the week.

Oh, that’s right! I forgot. I guess I should decide on my outfit. What does one wear to the end of the world?

Oh, that’s right! I forgot. I guess I should decide on my outfit. What does one wear to the end of the world?

We have chips, but no guacamole. I can send someone out for avocados, but they’ll probably come back with green ones like last time. Sigh…sometimes I wish the Alley were just a little bit more upscale… :D

I found an unopened jar of salsa. Will that do?

I make a mean guacamole! I am so ready for the cocktail party I am going to tonight!!!DB wish you could join me!

What does one wear to the end of the world? I vote for a ball gown and a tiara. I will uncork the champagne precisely at 5:30 pm.

We plan to be at a 50th wedding anniversary party tomorrow about that time. Oh dear, I hope the party’s not cut short! ;)

Here is some mocha chocolate cake for everyone to share today. Hand cranked vanila ice cream on the side. And fresh strawberries, help yourself. Might as well use the good china if the world is ending tomorrow evening.

cottonwood, I like the way you think!

Put my rum punch in a large Waterford crystal glass, please.

Rapture Playlist, as borrowed from another message board:

REM “Its the end of the world”
Bob Dylan “Knocking on heavens door”
Doors “The end”
AC/DC “Highway to Hell”
Ian Hunter “Just Another Night”
Johnny Cash “Ring of Fire”

:)

And so what are we to assume if we are still around at 5:35 tomorrow?

Then it will be time for another round. Duh.

At 5:35 tomorrow you should be drinking a Black-eyed Susan and watching the Preakness, of course.

From what I have been told, it will not matter what you are wearing, since you will be leaving it all in a pile on the the ground. So rock that tiara, if you choose!

What is the correct cocktail for end times, I wonder?

Kamakazi?

I’m not much of an alcohol consumer, but my Google search turned up Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse…

Well, the world didn’t end, so drink more!

I am at the bar. This is happy hour and I haven’t been here in ages…where are the little animals? The hedgehogs? I have friends due from Honolulu and my son coming from the Midwest. And the world is good. It has been a long haul. And I think back over the past 21 years when I packed the two of us up with 4 suitcases and crossed the ocean. I am ready to go home, maybe next year. :)

You mean the marmots. Though I would not be averse to having hedgehogs as well. They’d probably make good bouncers. They could subtly edge out undesirables…

Hot & humid here, but in the Alley it’s cool and dark. Hmmm…I like our neighborhood watering hole but there’s something to be said for enjoying a muddled drink on the deck in the HEAT.

Looking forward to having S home for the summer in just a few hours. Now let’s hope he lands that job! News as it happens.

O.k. I’ve put a quarter in the juke box, pressed a few letters and numbers and voila it’s an Ella Fitzgerald and yes, the marmots have put out chips and salsa and I am buying a round and raising my glass to good things. Why not!

MARMOTS! Bring them back! Ooooooooh leeetle maaaaaaaarmies, my son graduates in a year. I think you might need to start working on strategies now…I’ll crank up the hot tub out back, and take some Formula 409 to the Naugahyde. Sweep up the old Cheetos from under the tables, put them in a bowl, ready to go.

S is graduating from HS on Satuday, nine members from my family are arriving any minute from out of town. Bartender…cosmo, please.

Alumother–thanks for taking the lead in freshening up the place! Brings back memories.

I’ll have a cold one in honor of freshman year of college, succesfully completed. Son got a letter in the mail today. It was an assignment in senior English, that the teacher kept to mail to each of them a year later. From their HS selves to their college selves. I have no idea what was in it, but it made him smile. So it made ME smile. :)
