so who is hating on SIS as much as me and everyone else i know...

+1 (10 char)

There's bound to be a rough transition if you've only worked in one system before...especially when that system was as particular as ISIS was.

FWIW, I find the new student information system to be far superior to ISIS. I realize that isn't much consolation when you're having trouble, though.

So as far as decisions, any word on when we should be expecting them?

haha (ten char)

so is there just something wrong with the site? or what? because i can't get into the student systems site

jlb, check http://uvaapplication.blogspot.com/

looks like it's about to be posted...

EDIT: by it I mean the date..

Is anyone else having trouble typing in the right password? I think I've changed my pass at least a dozen times now, and I can't even c/p it correctly.

I must be missing something here.

^^ Yessss, me too! So i emailed them, but i haven't gotten one back.

I've changed it loads of times, and I keep on getting incorrect combination when i try to log on.

I know that some of them contain odd characters...enter them exactly as shown. This includes periods, minus signs, plus signs, etc.

I don't understand UVA's need to have ridic passwords. So someone should explain it.

if you are highlighting the password from the e-mail you got from UVa, make sure that you aren't mistakenly including a blank space at the end when you paste it into the password box. this might be seen as a character to be included in your password, which might make it come up as incorrect. this happened to me, and when i only highlighted the characters, i was able to access sis.

good luck!

a bunch of people were having issues with the system this morning, including me.
well. afternoon maybe for you? idk. it was morning hawaii time

but decisions will be posted THURSDAY at 5 eastern...just in case you didn't see the blog, other post, or facebook group post.

Guys try not to go off topic. There's multiple other threads about decision times

As for the passwords, it's a security thing. I know, for a fact, no one will ever be able to get into any of my personal stuff, and that's a secure feeling. Hang in there, you'll be constantly using it over the summer for checking email (most likely) and eventually it will be permanently engraved into your brain and will become your best friend (it's the password to my computer as well) :) I know someone who graduated and got the password tattooed into their arm, along with uva2008 and i think the logo or something. I found it awesome because only UVA kids (well, of these days/his class) will understand haha. It just sticks with you I guess ;)

ZAE123- Thanks so much! I realized that when the password was coming up, I was entering some spaces. I tried again and I'm golden. Thanks!

Dean J, you are the best!! this certainly has been the most entertaining wait for decisions.
thanks for taking the time.

imac- no problem!

mmm sorry to go back on topic but the SIS is the bane of my existence. I would rather manually look through a paper catalog of courses than through the Fall 09 course catalog on the SIS. And some of my credit didn't transfer through the transition so I had to talk to god knows who to make sure everything got through. The same thing happened to four people on my hall.

lol this is the first time i've seen this thread since i've started it... nice

on the other hand, the fact that i'm a 3rd year with 118 credits (not including the 15 this semester) means i register the first day... ;D BUT think about all of the registration bugs i get to deal with... :(

I just spent 10 minutes trying to find how to do that face with the bug eyes and wide open mouth. Because I'm still making that face in real life. What I would give to be a College kid......
