Six college system

Yep, I just did it (I don't think it's official though, I think all it does is place you in the system or something)

how do you do that?..do you have to pay a fee?

i'm not sure about other colleges sorry ^^; because the only colleges that i focused on were davis and sd.

confused_junior: yes, but it's not the "real" housing application. submitting the "pre-" housing application that's available now just guarantees you a single/double if you want one, which you would request after you submit your sir and fill out the "real" housing app. submitting this "pre-" housing app late or closer to its deadline would most likely put you in a triple or worse, plus -1 situation. and no, no fee :) the first time you pay if i remember correctly is when you do the "real" housing application and you pay $500 as like a deposit.

i made the mistake of not submitting it as soon as i got sd's acceptance mid-march last year. i waited until admit day which is like sometime early april i think, and got stuck in a plus-1. so even just a few weeks makes the difference of you getting a triple/plus-1 EVEN if you request a single/double.

ooh ok cool thanks!!..i really want a double!! no triples!

what does the housing application ask? is it only for people who are 100% sure they're going to attend UCSD?

Nothing, just click like 2 buttons to move on to the next page, then you're done.

do you how to view the contract?

so we are not bond to attend ucsd and that particular college?

yeah, should only take seriously a minute to finish it (unless you have a slow connection lol)..again, it doesn't matter if you're 100% sure or even 5% sure. sd doesn't like fine you/send you an angry email or anything if you end up going to another college.

there should be a link on the left side of the page that says "housing application" or something. or at least that's how it was last year.

do we also click "submit housing application"?

and that guarentees single/double housing?

yes and well it should unless there's an overwhelming number of other applicants that already submitted it before you, but that's not likely :)

Yes
No, just puts you closer to the top of the list.

phew, I did it. :) I hope I get a double!

thank you lost_decoy and Charisma!

Just completed it a few minutes ago. Thanks for the helpful tidbit! :)
