Hey, I'm an incoming student at Umass Amherst and am thinking about skipping my freshman year. I have 32 credits from AP classes, which is the equivalent of a standard Freshman year. I was wondering what other people's opinions of this might be. Has anyone else on here done this or attempted it? Should I go for it?

If finances are no issue or you do not want to get out to the real world/grad school asap, I would stay the extra year. Since I’m sure you got out of all the boring gen ed classes thanks your AP credits, I’d explore other courses you normally wouldn’t take and or consider getting another major/minor. UMass is so much fun and I know I wouldn’t want to only be here for 3 years.

I’d skip freshman year if I were you. It gives you the oppertunity to do internships, and research, much sooner than you would be able to do normally.
