I'm currently a senior. Throughout my 4 years of high school, I've been taking all Honors & AP courses, with the exception of 5 regular electives. I got a C and F in AP Euro freshman year and never made it up. I slacked off way to much during sophomore year and got some C's, D's, and F's. My unweighted GPA was a 2.15. However, junior year, I stepped up my game and made up all of my D's and F's and got mostly all A's that entire year. I have all A's right now so hopefully it will stay that way. I will be retaking the SAT's in 2 weeks.

@BornToBeaGator: And yet people with those very stats have gotten in. But again, you didn’t say it was impossible.

That being said, vi0812, express what you have done that was amazing outside of academics. And of course, take what you read on college confidential very lightly. It’s an untrustworthy site. But then again, it’s forums, that’s natural lol.

I do doubt an acceptance, but of course it is POSSIBLE. Your rank is pretty good and your EC’s may actually be outstanding and people just don’t know because you didnt include them. Never count yourself out, even if there are thousands of people (including myself) telling you to do so. Especially if you have hook ;)

If you are looking for an honest response- No way with the scores listed. Also your GPA doesn’t make sense. How can your transcript be filled with D’s & F’s and you still have a GPA of 4.2, I think your math is off…Also, your senior year grades do not count for your GPA !

After carefully reading your post, something just doesn’t make any sense. How can you transcript be filled with D’s & F’s and you have a 4.2 GPA. Also, how can you place # 52 out of 500 with your grades of D’s & F’s ?
Please explain

Oh wow! Sorry for the super late response; I never got a single notification for any of the comments. Thank you all for the feedback! Regarding the questions about how my GPA is what it is, I retook every single class that i did poorly in, with the exception one F in AP Euro, and passed them all with A’s.Those grades replaced my previous ones, as if I never failed them. Of course, they will all remain on the transcripts. Oh and I got accepted into UCF! So at least i have a backup plan (:

Thank you, CORNandTOOTHPICK! Unfortunately, my intended major is pre-vet, so that might be at my disadvantage I’ll get my answer in a month, so here’s hoping!

Is there a way that I can calculate my UF GPA? I finished 3 AP courses (I had to retake AP US Hist. so does that count as 4?) and right now I’m taking AP Calculus AB/BC so that adds 2 more to the list. And yes, I applied to FSU but I didn’t make their 1st priority deadline so I’m not really expecting an acceptance :/

Regarding your weighed UFL GPA, the senior year grades do not count…….
I guess your chances now are even slimmer….
Don;t toss away your other applications…
