Okay, getting 6 hours of sleep in middle school is concerning. I think I went to bed at 9 or 10 in middle school. I miss those days…

Junior here taking 3 AP classes. I play tennis and so I get home around 6:30 on practice days, 8:00 on match days. So I start my hw at around 7:30 or 9:00 respectively. APUSH gives the most hw and it’s crazy. Other hw I try to do in economics or some other class where I have some free time. But I go to bed around 12 or 12:30 and wake up around 7. Even though I’m getting like 6.5 to 7 hours of sleep, I feel really drowsy in the afternoon, which is a problem since I have chemistry (kinda hard for me) or physics (not too bad but I still have to pay attention).

In middle school i went to bed at 8 because I had basketball and my schools sucked…Now I go to bed at 10-11 as a freshman with the most rigorous course schedule in her grade. I also self study 2 APs, study for SAT and play sports. I am also learning to code and program. I also get out of school at 4:30 so… Its about time management and learning to move quickly and efficiently. I wake up at 7:00 and school starts 7:15/20

I haven’t been getting a lot of sleep lately - I’d say about 4-5 hours a night for the past month - a lot of it has to do with senioritis because I do stupid crap like put off an 18 page research paper until the last minute instead of working at it bit by bit in the three weeks that we were given because I’m an awful person - but nevertheless, I’ve been physically exhausted for quite a bit of time.

It has gotten so bad that grades closed today and I finished quarter 3 with all A’s so I rewarded myself with a 5 hour nap after school. I woke up deeply satisfied with the world.

I have 3 AP classes and 4 clubs. Not too much of a work load. Exceptt taking AP calculus. Worst decision of my life. Considering my teacher teaches as we as a gnat. I typically in the beginning of the year went to bed after 11. Now it’s around 9. Sleep is important to me and I would learn nothing without it!! Btw I’m a junior.

Sleep is important… Psychologically, when you are more awake==== better grades! more understanding!

HAHAHA I am so tired but I have a math test tomorrow and I need to study but instead I’m on CC, this is baaaaaaaad. And then I wonder why I get so little sleep.

I have 2 APs and about five clubs. The only reason that I usually stay up late is finishing something for an EC, procrastination, or me playing video games. Livin’ the good life.

As unhealthy as it may sound, I power through my sleep deprivation by enduring it through the week and then rewarding myself with 12 or 13 hours of sleep per night on the weekend. This is probably why my blood sugars aren’t that great

I’d power myself through the weekend but now days I’d just sleep right when I get from home and wake up early the next morning.

This is a really useful site: http://sleepyti.me

It’s a sleep calculator, so tells you what times are best to go to bed. If you want to wake up at 6:30, this site lets you know what times are best to wake up the most alert and ready (that’d be 11:00 and 12:30 am, 2:00 am if you have a lot of homework that night). It’s also good if you really need the sleep and you want to do stuff early in the morning instead so you can be alert to do it, then you can just calculate that.

It’s very practical, just don’t end up taking like 4-hour sleeps all the time lol.

I normally get from ~10:30 to 6:30 or 7. When I have a lot of homework (this is as anywhere from twice a month to 3 days in a row starting tonight), I steal a Coke from the container downstairs, wake up at 2, and stay awake until I’m supposed to “wake up”. Coffee gets me through the rest of the day. Probably have built up quite the deficit.

I’m not really involved in that many extracurriculars that hog up a lot of time, and my schedule isn’t too horribly challenging… I still don’t get much sleep though, I’m too distracted at night with nothing to do. I should start thinking of more efficient things to do in the hours I have at night besides play games and come on CC.

I think I have a minor case of insomnia, it takes me hours to fall asleep, I usually only get 5-6 if I fall sleep at a time when I should be getting like 7-8, if that makes any sense. So I stay up later since going to bed earlier is futile.

I’m not as sleep deprived as a lot of people here but I definitely feel its effects. I sleep for 6 hours a day no exceptions. I don’t sleep longer in the weekends. I just can’t sleep for too long.

Hello, sleep-deprived person checking in here! 1:42 AM here right now. Cramming for AP Physics, Calculus, and Computer Science exams tomorrow. Oh yeah, and I still have an AP Lit essay to write!

I’m going to be drinking a lot of coffee tomorrow, that’s for sure.

I’m not really sleep-deprived, just addicted to coffee, and it doesn’t work very well on me anymore. :(

@halcyonheather Coffee is a blessing and a curse, albeit a delicious curse.

I like mine black. Nostalgic.

Junior coming through!!! Wow you guys have it tough. Let’s see. My school doesn’t have school Fridays. So homework is due Monday or the next day. Lucky right? WRONG!!! My folders are always filled up with essays, math, and let’s just say my school is about “helping one another” aka coping. School starts at 8:15-4:00 I get home and I sleep. Wake up finish homework at 3. I wake up at 5. I have gotten used to it that I just procrastinate on my weekend homework and copy everything on Monday. Our school gotten so desperate that I sell my homework for money!!! :’( I’m a whore lol. Then it repeats.

JUNIOR YEAR VET.
I took 5 APs + a few honors, research, club stuff, and piano this year (not to mention the SATs.) Novemberish was the worst. I slept approximately at 2AM. Every day. School starts at 7:30.
I managed to cut it down to going to bed at 1AM (with the occasional 4-in-the-morning cram sessions) by Febuary/March. Then 12.
I only had to pull one allnighter, though! And now I’m getting to bed at 10-11 by choice~!
