I have a hard time balancing school and ECs and sleep. I have 4 Aps 3 Hons. I am also a section leader in marching band. VP of Computer Club. Running the robotics section of jets. Secme mouse trap. NHS. Yes some of them arent to hard but Band takes up about 10 hrs a week. and not to mention 4 APs take about 20 hrs of hw a week. (not including weekends).

i guess that's the price you have to pay to have that "well-rounded" look. :(
sleep in on the weekends when you dont have band competitions, etc.
other than that, there's not much else you can do unless you drop some stuff.
my sleep pattern is so bad, I come home and crash till nighttime. And then do homework all during the night until school starts. Which is why I'm up at 4:49 am on tuesday night =\
my parents are trying to fix it, but I've become such a night person now.. i guess i'm screwed for life. at least it's a good habit to get into if i ever become a physician.

uhhhhh op, what's your point?
samurai, my sleep pattern is nearly the same as yours except I sleep till like 3pm on Saturday because that's my only free day lol

I gave up on getting more than 4 hours on sleep on any given night a while ago .... i guess this gets me preped for Ohio Univ. (#2 party school) so maybe its a blessing in disguise

Hmm. I'm not nearly as busy with application-friendly activities as you (original poster) is, but I count myself blessed if I get 5 hours of sleep.

I usually jog a quick half mile (I mean, get out of bed, put on sneakers go out door) right when I wake up to kind of get my body going.

And of course on weekends I sleep in til 10 or 11, but I stay up a lot later so it kind of evens out...

Okay, you say you sleep till nighttime? I tried that only i get home at 6 or so. I actually was running on 2 hrs of sleep a night for like 2 weeks. (Weekends around 28 hrs of sleep). I actually crashed a couple weeks back and was sick (drenched in sweat (we run about 2 miles each practice for conditioning) + 2 hrs of sleep a night + getting a lack of nutrition (living off of ginger ale to keep me awake) = a low immune system) and was out for a week. Ive got about 3 more weeks of Band left or actually areound 6. I dont want it to happen again. It is annoying but I have to do it. My Aps btw are all science related, and english. (AP physics, AP Chem, AP comp science(actually cambridge (pretty much IB)) so ive got a ton of hw each night. Not to mention a week of make up work that im still making up. It has been a real grueling 3 weeks. My parents are getting concerned. I dont know if i can keep my grades up and keep my activities up, I dont mind doing most of them its just Im the only kid in Band w/ this schedule and everyone else has jobs and junior privelege (well not everyone, but a lot).

I know how you feel. I'm not even in a lot of AP and Honors classes, but my teachers are still just as demanding as an honors teacher would be. I'm probably only running on 5 hours of sleep and a cup of coffee every morning at school.
