hello, i am new to this forum, but am really excited to have found this very informational and friendly forum. Anyways, i had applied for the SLS program the very week that it became open for applications. But i was very ill informed on how the whole process worked, so my application for the SLS program was poorly made and not convincing. I did not add the clubs and past significant contributions made to my schools and community, nor my varsity sports, which i believe should've made a big difference. I also only had weak PSAT scores which were taken my freshmen year (i'll be taking the SAT this january and i expect it to be in the 2000's). So obviously i had been "regrettably" rejected, when i received the letter in the mail from WestPoint.

So... my question is. Do they allow candidates to reapply for the SLS program? Because if they do, then i plan on reapply once i get my SAT scores in, and hope that they still have slots available. thank you and have a happy new years.

well, i don't think i can reapply. Even if i did, the spots would probably be taken up by the time mine gets evaluated. I'm just gonna keep finding things to reinforce my application i guess. Also, i'm seeing alot of talk about athletes and westpoint. I'm just curious because i'm a dedicated cross country/track runner and our team just won CIF so i'd love to hear about any opportunities i can take advantage of.

i am a recruited track athlete, class of '13 if i choose to go, for west point so if you have any specific questions about their recruiting or anything let me know

I started with those recruiting forms and then sent emails

A benefit of USMA recruiting is that they are allowed to contact you earlier than other colleges because of their long admissions process however that means that you have to get noticed sooner to be competitive

If you get them interested though the track coaches will really look out for your application

Obviously from your name, Navy is your first choice...have you received offers to either yet? Have you visited both? What were your impressions?

"So... my question is. Do they allow candidates to reapply for the SLS program?"

Applying to SLS opens a candidate file in your name. If you believe that your application is incomplete, call admissions and ask if you can update it. You should definitely include club memberships and Varsity sport participation, and submit new SAT/ACT scores when you have them.

I have an LOA and Nomination to USMA med cleared, and CFA passed so just waiting for the paper work to get through the holiday clog

and I am triple qualified with 2 nominations to USNA

I visited USMA on an official recruitment visit during Air Force week which happend to be halloween this year it was an incredible visit and is an incredible institution, I like their development programs i.e. beast and the leadership training far more than USNA's however I will not be happy without doing everything I can to attempt to become a Navy SEAL

I am going to USNA in a few weeks and will be there during one of their home track meets
