Who's the "smartest" teacher at your school and why do you believe so?

Mine: We have a teacher who teaches for fun at our school because he doesn't want to retire. Columbia and Harvard graduate, who occasionally lectured at Harvard about Japanese Foreign Policy and Economy. Then was a professor in Japan and wrote several text books. He's really condescending though D:

There are a bunch of teachers who are all standouts in their particular subject, but my APUSH teacher is particularly intelligent. He went to Kalamazoo College (football scholarship), before transferring to Michigan (not on a football scholarship). Graduated as an English major, got a Masters in English, before finally deciding he wanted to be a history teacher. Ended up getting a PhD in history from Columbia. The class is extra tough because he uses his English background to critique writing on style and structure as well as content. Other than that, just a generally incredibly intelligent person.

Also, “smart” or “went to a good college” doesn’t necessarily imply good teacher. My best teachers have gone to Kalamazoo College, UW-Madison, CCNY, and Manhattan College. I had two teachers last year, one of whom went to Harvard and Penn, and the other who went to Columbia and Carnegie Mellon, and neither of them could hold a candle to the teachers who went to “worse” colleges.

I know…the teacher I talked about isn’t the best teacher. He’s kind of average (I would argue lower) on the “I teach students well” status. My “best” teacher went to UC Santa Barbara.

My science teacher is the smartest one I have had yet. She’s a biology dictionary and has never not known the answer to any random question anyone in our class has asked her. She doesn’t use notes or anything when she teaches us bio. And apart from all this she’s really smart just as a person (you can just tell sometimes, right?) and honestly one of the most dedicated teachers and overall best human beings I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. I love her, she’s great!

As for smartest in the school, it’s the advanced physics teacher I will probably have next year. No notes, always has the answers… She’s so smart. Her education background, teaching style, how tough everyone thinks she is when she says she’s going easy… everything. Another really dedicated teacher and great person.

My latin teacher definitely. She’s the testing chair for our junior classical league’s state convention and edits every single test (and keep in mind that these tests ask the most obscure things about roman culture, history, derivatives, etc.). She coaches our state’s national novice certamen team… she has a temper though…

My English teacher was wonderful and her accolades matched her teaching style. Impressive thing is, she had dyslexia and it caused her to be unable to read an actual novel until her high school years.
