Smartypants or Barrons or PR for Environmental Science?

I'm confused. I read through the consolidated list and some said Smartypants and others said Barrons... But that it had too much info while someone else said it was incomplete? Someone said PR is good but needs supplement for self study?? WHAT???? The whole thread mainly went on about physics calc and stat... So Im trying to take the enviro part out and bring it here. Honestly, advice would me dearly, and I mean dearly loved. :)

Update: I saw some reviews for Smartypants and the ppl who used it for independent study said it was incomplete… Now I’m RePly lost. I wish this was as straightforward as Psych. Just straight barrons…

23 views and no replies? Please… this is a really serious question.

I took AP Bio as a soph and this past year decided to self-study for APES and was able to get a 5 using Smartypants first and then PR because Smartypants did seem quite short. I do think however that it has a lot of good information consolidated in it. CARIN if you are interested I can send you these books for very cheap, I have them and used them last year but there is no writing in them and they are in very good condition. PM me if you’re interested… I’m thinking $15 maybe in case you’re wondering?

I got a 5 on the APES exam, and I used PR + Barron’s flashcards. I’ve looked in the Barron’s book and although it’s too superfluous, it has everything you need to get a 5. I haven’t read Smartypants, but seeing it, it looks way too thin. Don’t get PR though. I used it but it wasn’t helpful, I just got lucky. Get Barron’s.

This is kinda unrelated but in the Barrons book, is it just me or do the questions at the end of each chapter cover info that is not explicitly included in the text?

Like I read through the chapter and when I do the questions, it asks some things that are never mentioned in the text.
